Description:The University of Kansas Medical Center Library in Kansas City is excited to announce an opening for a Health Sciences Librarian. Ultimately, this is an opportunity to grow professionally and drive excellence to the institution through the unique contributions of a health sciences librarian.
Responsibilities:This position will provide leadership within the School of Nursing’s innovative curricula and lend research expertise to its numerous scholarly activities. This position will also contribute to the development of a nationally award-winning digital information literacy project.
Minimum Qualifications:Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited school of library/information science.Demonstrated innovation in teaching. Fluency using various research and educational technologies. Aptitude for critical thinking. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and instructional skills. Background working in academic librarianship with a strong service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in working with key stakeholders in presenting proposals and collaborating on campus-wide initiatives. Evidence of project outcomes or scholarship relating to health sciences, adult, professional, or higher education. Demonstrated experience in curriculum or course development, lesson planning, and educational assessment. Demonstrated experience in conducting and/or publishing complex research such as in-depth literature reviews, scholarly research, systematic reviews, etc. Background in embedded or liaison librarianship for health sciences units. Dedication to quality user-centered services.
