Description:Exciting opportunity for a creative, energetic, self-starting, strong and experienced leader to join the branch management at our West Wyandotte branch location.
Responsibilities:Responsible to lead, organize, direct, participate and evaluate the operations and services provided by staff including story times, programming, technology, reference/readers advisory, collection maintenance, assignments, schedules including public service desk coverage and professional outreach for service area. Will work with branch management to ensure seamless service to in-house patrons and outreach clients in assigned areas by regularly reviewing and analyzing programs, story times and services provided by staff.
Minimum Qualifications:Master’s in Library Science ALA/MLS required with proven ability in supervision and direction of a department and staff; ability to work independently; to meet deadlines and commitments; communicate and express ideas effectively in both verbal and written format and follow guidelines and procedures set forth essential. Proven ability to relate new concepts and technological support to staff and patrons necessary. Ability to communicate, direct and manage staff essential. Excellent verbal and written skills including presentations and ease of meeting and working with a diverse group or individuals.
